Monumental Island Art

Two new sculptures were officially inaugurated by Gustavo Ortega Joaquín, Mayor of Cozumel, at a ceremony last week.

"Turtle and Children Playing" and "Girl and Turtle" are the new monuments on the seafront downtown.

The art forms part of a program aimed at recovering Cozumel's "traditional, picturesque, historical image."
