$2.9 Million For New Cozumel Museum

 

Total investment for Cozumel's new Philippe Cousteau anchor museum was confirmed at $2.9 million (36.2m pesos), last month.

As part of Cozumel's status as Island of Peace, the new "water, light and sound" experience will be built on the seafront, south of downtown.

Cozumel Airport Traffic Up 1.4%

 

Figures released by ASUR, the operator of Cozumel airport, show the number of passengers through the island terminal was up 1.4% for the last 6 months, compared with 2009.

According to the report, published earlier this month, international traffic was particularly strong, up 5.5% in the period May-October 2010, over May-October 2009.

Cozumel's First Year As Island Of Peace

Cozumel marks its first anniversary as "Island of Peace", next week, and can be proud of what has been accomplished in just a year.

The island was awarded the prestigious peace flag - whose previous recipients include the Dalai Lama - a year ago on July 13th.
