Volunteers helped make the fourth Cozumel Ironman endurance competition a huge success, last weekend. Locals and visitors to the island gave up their time to support official event staff, as over 2,600 athletes from more than 70 countries swam, cycled and ran past the cheering crowds. |

These cute looking fellows are close relatives of the White-Nosed Coati (Nasua narica) that lives nearby on the mainland.
Similar to some other local mammals, isolation on the island has led them to evolve into a distinct breed (Nasua nelsoni) that is only found in Cozumel.
