Battle For Carnival King And Queen Begins

Carnival events start in Cozumel tonight, with the presentation of the 6 King and Queen candidates at a special ticketed show at the island's Moby Dick concert hall.

The aspiring carnival royalty will appear in full costume, dancing to Caribbean and Latin music in a loud, multicolor extravaganza.

Challenging to be this year's King are Ricardo Gamboa, Adrián Alvarado and Miguel Chan Esquivel, and in the battle for Queen are Reyna Meneses Peraza, Nadia Alonzo Martín and Leslie Chan.

$28 Million Investment For Cozumel Airport

Earlier this month, ASUR, the company that runs Cozumel airport, said it will invest $28 million in the island's international terminal between now and 2028.

In an exclusive interview with This is Cozumel, the airport's director, Armando Gamboa, said the money would be used to maintain and further improve the terminal and that more details will be released in due course.
