The world's new largest cruise ship, the Icon of the Seas, docked on the island, today, making Cozumel the mega-ship's first western Caribbean port of call.

Officially launched by global soccer star, Lionel Messi, in Miami, at the end of January, the 1,197 foot (365m) long vessel has 20 decks, 2,805 state rooms, 2,350 crew and can carry up to 5,610 passengers, according to its owners, Royal Caribbean cruise lines.

As one of the busiest cruise ports in the world, Cozumel has been preparing for the Icon's arrival for months and looks forward to receiving a lot more visits from her during the 2024 Caribbean cruising season.
